Argued December 13, 1995 Appeal from a judgment following a jury trial before the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York (Fox, M.J.), on the grounds that the jury erred in finding that plaintiff was a ""seaman"" within the meaning of the Jones Act (Section(s) 33 of the Merchant Marine Act of 1920, 46 U.S.C. Section(s) 688); that the jury erred in awarding plaintiff $75,000 in future medical costs on allegedly speculative proof of anticipated future medical care costs; and that the magistrate judge erred in not discounting the future medical cost award. Cross-appeal on the ground that the magistrate judge erred in discounting the award for future pain. Affirmed.
